I've always heard stories of kids getting to their "why" stage, but to me it never seemed like it would be that big of a deal. I'm starting to understand. Presley's thing is to ask why, then follow it up with a "why (insert what you just said here)." Here are two normal conversations Presley and I had on Wednesday:
P1: Why did Mommy get a new car?
Me: Because her car is in the shop.
P1: Why is it in the shop?
Me: Because we are getting the air conditioner fixed.
P1: Why are you getting the air conditioner fixed?
Me: Because it's broken.
P1: Why is it broken?
Me: Because it stopped working.
P1: Why did it stop working?
Me: Because sometimes things just stop working.
P1: Why sometimes things just stop working?
Me: Because they just do.
P1: Why do they just do?
Later that day while at the doctor's office:
P1: Why is there not a movie on?
Me: Because it is turned off.
P1: Why is it turned off?
Me: Because they didn't turn it on.
P1: Why didn't they turn it on?
Me: I don't know Presley.
P1: Why don't you know?
Me: Because I don't work here.
P1: Why don't you work here?

Why didn't you answer her question?
