Paxten, Goldfish & Love

Part I

Paxten Parker is starting to communicate and move more and more.
You already know when she sees something she wants, she points and says, "Ni-Ni."  She has also started exploring the house a lot more.  Often times, when I am preparing dinner or breakfast, Paxten will just be walking circles around the island, going into the pantry, grabbing stuff out of the pantry, taking stuff to the window ledge, going back to the pantry, putting stuff back in the pantry, etc.
This goes on and on.  When she walks, she can't go in a straight line for very long, so it constantly looks like she is going to fall to the side, but she doesn’t, that is just the way she moves.  Her big thing to do right now is take packages of goldfish that are on the ground level in the pantry and carry them to the window.  She made 4 trips the other day and six bags ended up on the window, and then she put them all back!
She also likes to eat goldfish.  A lot of times I'll open a bag and put several of the goldfish on the little wooden kid table that comes up to her chest.  When I do that, she will continue making laps, but she will stop at the table, grab a goldfish or two, and keep going until she has eaten them, and then she’ll come back for more.
The other day as I was preparing her dinner she brought an unopened bag of goldfish to me and said, "Ni-Ni."  After I grabbed it, she made a butterfly-line (definitely wasn't a beeline) to her wooden table and hit the top of it and said, "Ni-Ni." ! ! !
I thought this was so neat.  We were about to have dinner, but I wanted to reward her for figuring out how to convey “I want some goldfish on the table” to me, so I did open the sack and give her a few.  I was so impressed and proud of that.

Part II

When Lora is home, usually she handles Paxten and I handle Presley just because Presley is easier for me than Paxten is.  Also, I often times am very aware of Presley's feelings because I don't want her to get jealous of her baby sister.  This all translates whenever we go out in public too.  I usually give Presley 80% of my attention and Lora gives Paxten 80% of her attention.  It is just how we do it.  Here lately I have also blogged a lot more about Presley, and honestly, I’m feeling guilty about it, so I must put something on the record.  I adore and love Paxten Parker so so so so much.  I honestly can say that I do not have a favorite child.  I love both of my girls an infinitely amount, and you can't measure or compare infinity to infinity.

With this said, brother, all those years when you and I both believed that I was the favorite son, we were wrong.  I assure you now; mom and dad do not have a favorite child.  I also used to think I was the favorite grandchild too.  I guess it is a good thing that I felt that way, but now I happily realize it was not true.
I love my girls and their uncle and their grandparents and their great grandparents! ! ! !
