What's behind a name?

Parents pick names for their children for several different reasons.  Lora and I have always tried to have some theme with at least one reference to our family when naming our kids.  In case you don't know, here is our history followed by our kids' history:
I was apparently named after a football player, Steve Wooster, at UT who helped them win the 1969 National Championship.  My parents were still students at UT when they got married.  I was not born until 1979.
Lora's mom, being new to the United States, named Lora after the popular T.V. show at the time’s main character i.e. Little House on the Prairie’s Laura Ingalls.

As far as our kids are concerned:
I've mentioned on here before that our dog, Cady, got her name from Lora's last name that she lost one week later when we got married.  (Lora's maiden name)
Presley comes from me wanting my daughter to have a first and last name that start with a P.  My brother told me once that he always got compliments on his double P name.  Presley's middle name is Alexa, and while Alexa did not have any special meaning to it at the time, I do like the sound of it, but it was chosen so Presley's initials, PAP, would match my brother's initials.
You may or may not know, but Lora and I lost a boy almost half way through pregnancy, and we named him Matthew because Matthew means "gift of god."  Matthew's middle name was Aaron, which is also my brother's middle name.  Again keeping some sort of family theme in our kid's name.
Finally, Paxten Cady Parker gets her name from us wanting to have two girls with a name that starts with a P, and obviously the middle name comes from Lora's maiden name..... or we named her after Cady, our dog, but either way, we kept it in the family.  I love my family.
