The other night, we had one of Presley’s classmates from the Montessori school over to swim and eat, along with her mommy and daddy. They also have another daughter who is within 2 days of Paxten’s age. Well apparently their youngest daughter puts a lot of stuff in her mouth, as does Paxten. I really don’t know how to tell this story other than just replay it for you. It was funny.
The daddy thought his youngest daughter (Gabriella) had something in her mouth:
Daddy: Gabriella, say AHHH.
Gabriella: AHHH.
(There was nothing in her mouth.)
Me: Wow, that’s impressive that she’ll do that for you. I don’t think Paxten would even know what I was talking about if I told her to do that. Let’s see.
(Paxten’s back was turned to me, so the plan was to call her until she looked at me, and then ask her to say “AHHH” to see what she would do.)
Me: Paxten.
P2: (turns to look at me) AHHH!
Everybody in the room laughed. Not only did she know what I wanted her to do, but I didn’t even have to ask the question! ! ! ! I love my daughter who I think is very smart, but is probably smarter than I give her credit for!
