Storms

You may remember me and my girls taking cover in the pantry when we thought a tornado was bearing down on us.  Even if you don't that's okay because the point is that Presley does remember it.  The episode below unfolded on Monday night when the storms rolled through here:
Presley was coughing a lot in her sleep so I took her some cough medicine and some water around 3AM.  It had been thundering in the distance for about an hour at that point, but it was getting louder, and I knew that any minute it would start thundering and lightning here.  Since I had to wake up Presley to give her medicine and water anyway, I went ahead and warned her after she lay back down:

Me:  Hey Presley, it is about to start thundering and lightning a lot, but it’s okay.
P1:  Do we need to go into Cady’s bone closet and eat some food like last time?
Me:  No Presley, it isn’t dangerous.  It will be loud, but it is only rain.
P1:  (smiling):  Oh, you mean like “dibble, dibble, dop?”
Me:  Yes, like “dibble, dibble, dop.”  I just wanted you to know.  Good night, I love you.
P1:  DADDY, I’m going night-night.

Sometimes the half-asleep 3AM conversations are the best ones!
