Yesterday after I picked the girls up from school, it was nice outside, so I told them to go play on their slide while I finished dinner. They had been out there for about 5 minutes, when P2 ran in holding one finger up like she always does when she is telling me that she doesn't like something:
P2: No ap!
Me: What?
P2: (shaking her head and her one finger at me.) No ap!
Me: No ap? Paxten, I don't know what you're saying. No ap?
P2: No like-a ap.
Me: Yes, I know you don't like "ap," but I don't know what you mean.
Right about that time Presley came in.
P1: Daddy guess what?
Me: What?
P1: Paxten went down the slide in my lap TWO times.
Me: She did?
P1: Yea. It was fun.
P2: No ap. (Still shaking one finger at me while she's telling me.)
Me: OH...... NO LAP.
P2: No ap!
Me: Presley, Paxten doesn't like sliding down in your lap so don't make her do it any more.
P1: But I like it.
Me: Yes Presley, but she doesn't. No more putting Paxten in your lap to slide, okay?
P1: Okay.
I love that my girls play so well together. I love that Paxten is communicating more and more. I love that Presley minds me.....sometimes.
