Presley LOVES TV. I'm pretty sure she watches more TV than most kids her age. When she was sick a few weeks ago, one day she watched four different Disney Princess movies, and loved every second of it. I did not mind because she was sick, but the fact that she could sit through that many movies tells you something. When she wakes up in the morning, she wants to watch TV. When she gets home from school, she wants to watch TV. When she gets out of her bath and before bed, she wants to watch TV. The doctor said no more than 2 hours a day, and except for when she gets sick, I think we are right around that because she just watches it in 30 minute intervals.
Between all of her shows (Dora The Explorer, Go Diego Go, Max and Ruby, The Pound Puppies, My Little Ponies, Barbie, any Disney Princess, etc.) not one of the things she watches holds her attention, and more importantly, makes her laugh as much as a cartoon from the 1970s called, "Scooby Dooby Doo, Where Are You?" If you know me, you'll know that it was also one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, but I don't remember laughing at it the way Presley does. She watched one the other day that was from 1970, and I still could not believe how timeless it was. (Yes, I watch them with her.)
Almost every time Scooby Doo starts Presley asks me if that was the one I watched when I was a kid, which is sweet. You have to be very careful with your Scooby Doo selections now days because there is a more Sci-Fi Scooby Doo out there where the bad guys aren't just people in masks. For Presley, it is the original and sometimes 40 year old "Scooby Dooby Doo, Where Are You."
For the other Scooby lovers out there (Chuck), I read that the name Scooby Dooby Doo came from the syllables "doo-be-doo-be-doo" in Frank Sinatra's song "Strangers in the Night." (See more here.)
So without further ado, here are pictures of Presley Parker being completely fixated on a show that her daddy was also fixated on 25 years earlier.
(Note: These are not staged. These are me taking pictures of her while she is watching it.)

I normally respond directly to Stephen on his postings since they come to my AOL...but had to post here for all the cosmos to see since the subject is Presley AND Scooby! As a kid, I watched Scooby when he and the gang debuted on tv. Was hooked from episode 1. And those poor Watsons. I immediately created a Scooby mystery solvers team and made them participate in a bevy of highly imagined mysteries around our neighborhood. Watched all the new incarnations of Scooby over the years and loved 'em, but was always partial to the original. Years later, was beyond excited when a very young Stephen clued in to the original and loved it like i did...Stephen uttered the captured-forever-on-film line, 'Scoobys Doobys Do, whereS ARE you?,' and it makes me smile to this day. And now to read Stephen's report on Presley's big love for all things original Scooby, it sends me dancing over the mystery moon. It must be in the genes. Yay Presley! Yay Stephen! Yay Scoob, Shaggy, Vilma, Freddy and Daphne! Yay Us! "That's right, Raggy!...Ruh Roh, what....was....THAT???"
