An Open Letter To My Daughters

Ten years ago today, some really bad people attacked our country and caused a lot of people a lot of pain and suffering.  Since that happened, the world and our country have both become a scarier place to live, in my opinion.  People don't make as much money as they used to and economies are crashing all around the world, including ours.  There is also fighting going on in several places in the world right now.  On top of that, resources are becoming more and more scarce, and the world is becoming more and more crowded.  I guess my point is that, as your parent, I am worried about your future, so here is what I want you to know:
Life isn't perfect, and it isn't always fair or easy, but as your dad, I promise I will strive to make your life as perfect as I can make it and teach you the skills required to get though the unfair times and the hard times; because, despite everything I've said, life is good and worth living for, and I hope one day you two will find the same kind of happiness that you bring me every second of my life.
I love you,
Daddy
