Last Saturday after Presley had been watching cartoons all morning, I told her we were going to go upstairs and play. She immediately asked if she could watch t.v., and I told her no because she had watched too much t.v. already that day. I told her as a matter of fact, I was going to watch college football in her play room while she and her sister played in her play room. She accepted this, and she and Paxten played in their play room while I was in there watching them play, playing with them and watching college football. After about 20 minutes of interacting with them, I sat on the couch and started playing with my phone. The following conversation took place:
P1: Daddy can I watch t.v.?
Me: No Presley, I told you I'm watching football while you're playing.
P1: But you're not watching football.
Me: Yes, I am.
P1: No you're not. You're looking at your phone. You can't look at your phone and watch football at the same time.
Me: Um, yes I can. Besides, you've already watched a lot of t.v. today.
(She's not smarter than me YET.)
