As much as I try to have a post a day, it was just not possible these past few days. We had family in town and were preparing for our annual 4th of July Family Reunion-ish and 42 Tournament. Although it is a lot of work, I always enjoy hosting it. My cousin and his wife and their two kids always stay with us for the weekend, and any other time they are in town as well. I enjoy them staying here for many reason, but one of the main reasons is because how well their oldest daughter, Karys, and Presley play together. They played together nonstop from Saturday morning at 8:00AM until Monday afternoon at 2:00PM when they left, and they did not have one fight/argument/dispute at all. Maybe it is because Karys is 5, but I can definitely say Presley plays better with her than anyone else.
We also went swimming here or at a water park multiple times while they were here, and Presley is almost self sufficient in the water now. I obviously won’t let her swim without close supervision, but she was all over the pool this weekend and did fine now that she knows how to come up for air and keep swimming. Paxten can now go under water for 4-5 seconds, and she is starting to really enjoy swimming as well. Maybe she will be as good of a swimmer as her big sister is when she gets older.
One of the more memorable events of the weekend was Paxten playing with her Poppy. This was Sunday afternoon while 42 games were going on and Poppy was watching P2. Poppy started chasing her around the couch, and then tickling her when he caught her, and she would have the loudest cackle that filled up the whole house. Of course everyone heard her, and the sound of a baby laughing brought a smile to everyone’s face. Pax enjoyed it so much that when Poppy tried to stop playing with her, she would pull his hand and start running again around the couch.
It was a great weekend for the girls with all of their family.
Poppy chasing Pax, Pax's cackling, was cute indeed.
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say that it reminded me of the end of The Godfather when Marlon Brando was chasing his grandchild around the garden and he suddenly fell over and died. So I was watching Poppy carefully too. And that wasn't the main thing I was thinking - the main thing I was thinking was how sweet it was.
