Backfire!

I said it multiple times.  I wrote about it here, and I knew there was no way that both girls would not be even MORE daddy's girls after Lora was gone for 6 days.
But I guess she was gone too long.  Normally she'll come home, and they are happy to see her, but they will remain daddy's girls, but not this time.  As my brother said, the pendulum swung the other way.  Paxten did not want to let go of mommy, and would throw a fit/cry when I would try to hold her while Lora was eating dinner shortly after she got in.  Lora ate dinner with Paxten in her lap that night.
And Presley, who is always daddy's girl, told me to my face multiple times the night Lora got home that she was mommy's girl.  I gave her time to get over it, but the following conversation took place the next morning:
P1:  Daddy, can I have some milk?
Me:  Yes.  Do you want it in a big girl cup or a sippy cup?
P1:  Big girl cup.
Me:  Okay, do you want the monkey cup or the Dora cup?
P1:  Dora cup.
Me:  Okay, last question.  Whose girl are you?
P1:  Mommy!
Me:  What?  Presley!  I have your milk.  Whose girl are you?
P1:   Mommy!
Me:  I guess you aren't getting any milk then. (Holding it above her head)
P1:  Daddy, you’re being silly.  Give me my milk.
Me:  Okay, whose girl are you?
P1:  Daddy, you're being silly.
(Notice at this point, she stopped saying "mommy's girl," but she wouldn't tell me "daddy's girl" either.)

I gave her the milk and gave her a kiss and told her that I was glad she was Mommy's girl.

I love my mommy’s girls!
