Through The Eyes Of A Child

I received an email from my mom on Monday detailing a conversation that she and Presley had while Presley was at her house that made me laugh so hard, but before I share it, here is some background:

1.  Presley is spending every Sunday night and Monday in the month of July with her Poppy and SuSu.
2.  Presley's daddy, me, works from home; therefore, is almost ALWAYS at home.
3.  Presley's mommy works out of the house, and is often gone for 2-3 nights during the week 2 or 3 times a month.

Here the conversation that took place between Presley and her SuSu, in SuSu’s words:
Presley (for the 4th time) - "Why is Poppy at work?"
Me (SuSu) - "You know how your mommy & daddy work?  Well Poppy works too."
Presley - "My mommy works.  But my daddy doesn't work."

I laughed/smiled so hard that my cheeks started hurting!  Lora had a fitting response:
“I’m not sure if that statement makes me sad (b/c I have to leave and travel) or if that makes me happy (b/c at least daddy is always there for the girls).”

I love my Presley.

  1. It's also cute to rememember it in the way she talks. Like when you were young, Presley doesn't really pronounce her r's. She' says something like "wuk" for "work"
"My daddy doesn't wuk." I can still hear her.
