Incident Report

I had to sign an incident report at school when I picked up Presley on Tuesday.  Apparently, here is what happened:

One of Presley's classmates:  I'm a pretty princess.
Presley:  You aren't a REAL princess.
(Then the classmate, scratched the back of Presley's arm and broke the skin.)

Two thoughts.
First, I thought this was hilarious up until the point where Presley got scratched, which leads me to my second thought.  It is so frustrating as a parent of a child who has never hit, bit, scratched or kicked another kid to have things like this happen to my sweet daughter.  She is such a sweet girl, and I hate it when other people's kids don't know how to express their feelings and my sweet little daughter pays for it.  I asked Presley about her classmate the next morning, and Presley said, "I love her," so obviously Presley was over it, which is a good thing.
Presley was also at a friend's house the other day, and after I picked her up, she told me that her friend hit her and poked her, and I believe Presley.  Obviously I am blinded by my love for her, but until she gives me a reason to not believe her, then I will always believe her.  Again, as a parent this is very frustrating.  HAVING SAID THAT, I try to keep an open mind because if my child hit, poked, bit, scratched, etc., other kids, then I bet it would also be frustrating as a parent because I've heard that a lot of times when kids do this, it is because they don't know how to express themselves, and there really isn't a lot you can do to prevent it.  Paxten is still too young to know if she is going to go through this phase or not, but I hope we don't experience the other side of the coin with her, but if we do, we'll deal with it.  I've told you before that she is a fireball!

I love my sweet, non-scratching, non-hitting, princess, who isn't a REAL princess, but is MY princess!
