Part 1
The other morning, the following conversation took place between Presley and me after breakfast:
P1: Daddy, I'm finished.
Me: Did you eat all of your food?
P1: No, but my tummy's full.
Me: Presley, you didn't touch your sausage and you told me you wanted sausage.
P1: But I'm finished.
Me: Did you like your sausage?
P1: Kind of, but my tummy's full.
That was the first time I heard Presley use the phrase "kind of," and it made me smile.
Part 2
I loved that conversation so much that I decided to tell Lora later when we were all in the car together:
Me: Did I tell you about my conversation with Presley this morning after breakfast when she was finished eating?
Me: Did I tell you about my conversation with Presley this morning after breakfast when she was finished eating?
Lora: No.
Me: It cracked me up. She told me that she was finished eating, but she hadn't eaten the sausage that she specifically asked for, so I asked her if she liked it, and she told me "sort of, but my tummy's full."
P1: (from the backseat) I said "kind of."
I loved that conversation even more! She obviously listens to us when we talk and has a good memory of her conversations with us as well.
I kind of, sort of love every ounce of that girl!
Love that.
ReplyDeleteGosh, her intellect is advancing so fast now.
Every week is something new.
Last weekend I asked her if she was through and she said "Almost; I'm almost through." That surprised me; she's picking up all the nuances and shades of grey that I have not seen her doing before.
