Just yesterday you read about Presley using her big-girl-real-toothpaste-with-fluoride and how she constantly swallows it. Well the effort has gotten better, but she still doesn't get it.
Now when I put the dot of toothpaste on her toothbrush, she puts her toothbrush in her mouth, then ONE second later, she spits out the dot of toothpaste still intact!
Then with the residue that was left on the toothbrush, I am able to brush her teeth with enough toothpaste for it to foam up on her teeth. When I am finished I tell her to spit it out and she just makes a noise like she is trying to spit, but nothing comes out. Alas, she has swallowed the foamy residue too.
So afterwards, I've started giving her water to swish in her mouth to make sure we get it all out. The problem with that is that she swallows the first 3 or 4 gulps she takes before she starts swishing.
Eventually, she does swish the water in her mouth and correctly spits on the water; however, I rarely notice any toothpaste residue by that point. Oh well, she'll get it. It is children's toothpaste, so I assume that means that it tastes good or that it is low on fluoride...at least I hope it does. I love my toothpaste-swallowing-girl!
