Aaron

Presley Parker has a good friend at school named Aaron.  A few months ago, one of her teachers told us that she was always playing with him, and after her best friend Charlotte left the school, she would tell us that Aaron was her best friend at school.  (On a side note, Charlotte, is a neighbor so they see each other 1-2 times a week.  Their birthdays are 5 days apart and they get along really well.)

Fast forward to Wednesday night, Lora told me that when she picked up Presley from school that Aaron's dad was also getting him, and he told Lora that Aaron says that Presley is his best friend too.  So then Lora tells Presley to tell Aaron bye, and she ran over to him and kissed him on the forehead and told him that she loved him! ! !

Then on Thursday when I was dropping Presley off at school, as her teacher was getting her out of the car, Aaron and his dad walked by, and Presley just yelled, "AARON" and then jumped out of the car and took off without her backpack and without telling her daddy bye! ! !

You have to know that Presley is always quiet when her teachers get her out of the car in the morning.  It is a little shyness that wears off after she's been at school for a bit.  After they unload her, I always tell her bye, that I love her, and to have a good day, and she'll turn and waive.  Again she doesn't really talk at this moment during the day.  So to see her shout his name, take off running and not tell me bye and forget her backpack broke my heart.

I know she is just a 3 year old, and it doesn't mean anything, but I got a taste of what life might be like in 12 years, and I just hate it!  It made me remember to appreciate the time with her now, which I always do, but man I love that girl so much.  It really didn't break my heart too much, but it was like someone poured cold water on me for just a second.  I love my little won’t-be-allowed-to-date-until-she-is-30-girl so much! ! ! ! ! !
