Swinging

Recently Paxten Parker has not felt well.  This past weekend her temp stayed around 103 even with medicine, and every night night time was such a struggle because of her pain.
The problem is that she has a virus that caused blisters on her throat, and then she got an ear infection.
The blisters on her throat hurt her a lot as does the ear ache.  Plus we were given antibiotics for her ear infection, but one of the side effects of it is that if you are getting over a virus, "...the symptoms of the virus will get worse," which is probably the cause of the elevated fever and extra hard time getting her to sleep.
On Saturday night she cried for 3 hours straight with mommy and daddy until we finally put her in the car and drove her around.  I did the same thing Sunday night, but only after 20 minutes because I could tell it was coming again.  You always hear about people doing that, but that is the first time we've had to do it with either child.  Monday she stayed home again with mommy and daddy and although her fever is broken, she still will not sleep without kicking and screaming.  Lora suggested getting the swing out that she hasn't used in 10 months, and you know what... it worked...... for now.
It is so frustrating as a parent when your child is in so much pain and there is nothing you can do.  On Saturday night when Pax had her 3 hour crying spell, she was literally on 3 different types of pain medication, per the 3 doctor visits, and her antibiotic.  Hopefully she'll start feeling better soon.  I love my happy girl, even when she's not happy.
