Recently Lora taught Paxten how to give a kiss to someone. She has been blowing kisses for a while now, but if you ask her for a kiss now, she'll lean up to you with her lips leading the way. She doesn't pucker up and make the "SMACK" sound, obviously, but she is "allowing" you to give her a kiss on the lips, and it will melt your heart every time. Lora showed it to me on Monday, and I have been asking for one several times ever since. Sometimes, I'll get one right away, but most times, I'll have to ask 3 or 4 times before I get one. The take away from that is that I ALWAYS have to ask for one to get one.
Also recently Paxten has not been herself. After two trips to the doctor's office in two weeks, we've finally discovered she has white blisters on the back of her throat that probably hurt her quite a bit that she got from a virus. It is not strep throat and should be gone in a week. On the most recent doctor visit, where the white blisters were discovered, the nurse had to hold Paxten down, open her mouth with a tongue depressor, then swab the back of her throat to make sure she did not have strep throat. She had to do this twice. The first time it was when she was checking everything out, then the second time was to actually use the cotton swab. Both times Paxten gagged, and both times she cried a lot. So after I rescued her for the second time and was comforting her, she leaned up to me and gave me a kiss without me having to ask! ! ! Then after I kissed her on the lips, she leaned up again and gave me another one! ! ! ! She ended up giving me 4 kisses in a matter of 2 minutes. I think it was her way of thanking me for rescuing her from the tongue depressor. I thought it was so sweet, and obviously it melted my heart.
I love my baby girl and her kisses!
